About the line

One number for roof leaks on the Galveston County mainland

Mainland Roof Line exists to make one thing simpler: getting a local roofer on the phone when water is coming through the ceiling.

What Mainland Roof Line is

Mainland Roof Line is a free referral service for homeowners in Texas City, League City, Dickinson, La Marque, Hitchcock and Santa Fe. When you call the number on this site, your call is connected with an independent, locally operating roofing contractor who serves your area. We are not a roofing company: nobody on our side climbs ladders, writes repair scopes or holds a contractor license.

The idea came from a simple problem. After a storm, homeowners on the mainland often spend an evening calling one roofing company after another, leaving voicemails and waiting. A single number that routes the call to a contractor who covers that part of the county saves some of that effort at a stressful moment.

The pages on this site are there to help before and after that call. They explain how roof leaks start, how to trace a stain back to its source, what to check from the ground, and how storm damage, insurance and windstorm certification fit together in Galveston County. The goal is that you go into the conversation with a roofer knowing what to ask.

How a call is matched

When you call, the line uses your location to route the call to a participating roofing contractor who works in your area. You speak directly with that contractor. They will ask about the leak, the roof and the house, and arrange an inspection if it makes sense for both of you.

Calls may be routed through a call-tracking service so that they reach the right contractor and so that calls can be counted. If a call is recorded, you will be told at the start. The privacy policy explains what information is handled and how.

There is no charge to you for using the line. Contractors who take part in the referral network pay for the calls they receive. That arrangement is how the line and this site are funded.

What you can expect from the contractor

The contractor you speak with is a separate business that sets its own schedule and its own terms. Expect them to ask questions on the phone, inspect the roof and attic, explain what caused the leak and give you a written scope of work before starting. Any agreement you make for repairs is between you and that contractor.

Because contractors are independent, your own checks matter. Ask for proof of liability insurance. Ask whether the City of Texas City or your city requires contractor registration or a permit for the job. In Galveston County, ask whether the repair needs windstorm certification for your insurance. And ask for the scope in writing. The guides on storm damage and shingle leaks go into more detail on what a good repair involves.

Why the line covers six cities

Roofers on the mainland do not stop at city limits. A contractor based in Texas City may work in La Marque in the morning and League City in the afternoon, and homeowners in Hitchcock or Santa Fe often search for help under the name of a bigger neighbor. Covering the six cities together reflects how roofing work actually moves around this part of Galveston County, and it lets the area pages speak to each city's own housing and storm history.

What Mainland Roof Line does not do

  • We do not perform, supervise or inspect roofing work.
  • We do not promise any particular contractor, schedule or outcome.
  • We do not set or collect payment for the contractor's work.
  • We do not offer insurance advice; check your policy or speak with your agent.
  • We are not an emergency service. If a storm has made your home unsafe, call 911.

Referral disclosure

Mainland Roof Line is a free referral service. Calls to this site are connected to independent, locally operating roofing contractors who carry out all inspections and repairs themselves. Mainland Roof Line does not repair roofs, employ roofers or hold a contractor license, and it does not warrant or guarantee any contractor's work. Homeowners are responsible for confirming that the contractor they hire has the license, registration and insurance required for the job.
